Quiet day...

...but this time last year we had an evening walk at our local seaside town. At high tide this sea wall attracts these delightful Ruddy Turnstones.

Such an appropriate name, it is actually what they do (turn stones over looking for food), fantastic markings on their plumage and a great little jizz about them. This particular sea wall is popular with fishermen at high tide so the birds are quite approachable as they run around looking for fishy scraps. I didn't have my DLSR camera with 400mm lens for these shots and keep saying to myself  I must return with it to take better photos of them.
